What Beamback is

Beamback delivers weather forecasts (as GRIB data from the public GFS and ECMWF models) and AI-generated answers to your ZOLEO satellite messenger by text message. You send a request from your paired device; Beamback sends the response back over the same satellite link. ZOLEO satellite airtime is billed by ZOLEO, separately.

Safety — read this one

Beamback is not a substitute for official maritime weather forecasts or warnings. Forecasts are automated output from numerical weather models (NOAA GFS, ECMWF), passed to you as-is; models can be wrong, late, or unavailable. Always consult official sources — national meteorological services, coastguard broadcasts, NAVTEX — before and while making safety-critical decisions at sea. Do not rely on Beamback as your only source of weather information, and never as an emergency communication service.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. No guarantee is made about the accuracy of forecasts or AI answers, or about delivery times over the satellite network, which is operated by third parties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the fees you paid in the month the issue occurred.

Fair use

The Skipper plan is "unlimited" under a fair-use rule: it covers normal personal use — even heavy use on a long passage. Automated scripting, resale, or volumes far beyond what one crew could reasonably use may be throttled after a heads-up email.

Billing

The Skipper plan costs €6 per month and you can cancel anytime — cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, with no further charges. During the invite-gated beta, access is free.

Your account

Keep your sign-in email under your control, pair only devices you own or are authorised to use, and don't use the service for anything unlawful. Accounts that abuse the service or other people can be suspended.

Who you're dealing with

Beamback is operated by Matej Képeš, sole operator, Slovakia. These terms are governed by Slovak law. Questions: [email protected].
